At 24 years of age in 2020, Grizzly 399 emerged from hibernation with four new cubs. This is only the third documented case where a grizzly sow has had born four new cubs. She is pictured here in a field of wildflowers with the youngsters near Leek's Marina in Grand Teton National Park.

I specialize in fine art nature photography, with particular emphasis on the U.S. west including Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. My goal in photographing the natural world is to overcome the inherent limitations of traditional photography to produce images with depth and perspective that artistically represent the beauty of our natural environment. The human eye is far more capable than any camera at seeing the beauty of a natural scene. I strive to overcome that gap. The sense of awe inspired by nature's magnificence is what I attempt to translate from nature to every photographic image I produce.
